Finding Balance
A short film representing youth in the outdoors in the sea to sky area.
As part of our first initiative, we are producing a short film that will highlight children in the Sea to Sky region who are actively participating in outdoor sports and recreation. This film will focus on the positive effects that activities like skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, climbing, kite surfing and other forms of recreation have on their mental and physical health.
Our youth and their wellbeing
We believe that together, we can create a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of children in our community. By encouraging outdoor activities and fostering mental health awareness, we aim to build a stronger, healthier future for the next generation.
Making the difference
Our goal is to create a lasting, positive impact by encouraging children to reconnect with nature and become more involved in outdoor sports and recreational activities, which are proven to benefit both mental and physical health. To bring this vision to life, we need the help of businesses, individuals, and government partners who share our passion for community, youth development, and the importance of mental well-being.
Why this matters
In today’s digital age, children are spending increasing amounts of time on screens, contributing to a host of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, and social isolation. Our project seeks to counterbalance this by fostering active, outdoor lifestyles that are proven to reduce stress, build confidence, and strengthen physical health. Outdoor activities provide an outlet for creativity, teamwork, and personal growth, and have a direct impact on children’s emotional well-being.
The impact of this project extends beyond individual children. It is about building a community that prioritizes the mental health of its youngest members. When children thrive, so do families, neighborhoods, and the entire region.
